Posters that read from across the room.

Motionix is a free online poster maker. Start at A4 portrait or landscape, or any size you set, put the message where it is seen first, and export a PDF for the printer or a PNG to share. The same poster can play on a screen as a GIF or video.

An A4 market stall poster: a scored sourdough loaf cut at four fifths, with the offer set large above it.

HowThree steps

How it works

  1. 01

    Choose the paper

A4 portrait or landscape from the size menu, or type your own size for a banner or a window.

  2. 02

    Say one thing large

The event, the offer or the instruction first, then the date, the place and the details smaller.

  3. 03

    Print or post

A PDF for the printer, a PNG at up to four times its size for a sharp print, or a GIF for a shop screen.

WhatFeatures

Made for walls, windows and screens

A4 and any size

A4 portrait and landscape are presets; any other size, from a flyer to a banner, is a width and a height away.

Print-ready files

PDF for the printer and PNG at one to four times the page size, so small type stays crisp on paper.

Type with a voice

Self-hosted fonts in six voices, plus your own uploads, with outline and shadow for words over a picture.

Logos and pictures

Drop in your logo or a photo, cut it to a shape, and keep it with the project for next month's poster.

Notices that follow a format

Fire action notices, stroke posters and step guides set out the way people expect to read them.

Posters that move

Animate the offer or the date and export a GIF or MP4 for a shop screen, a WhatsApp status or a reel.

FAQQuestions

Questions, answered.

What size is an A4 poster?

A4 is 210 by 297 millimetres. In Motionix the A4 portrait page is 1240 by 1754 pixels, and PNG export can scale it up to four times for printing.

Can I print my poster at home?

Yes. Export a PDF and print it at actual size on A4 paper. Keep important words a little in from the edges, since most home printers cannot print right to the edge.

Is the poster maker free?

Yes. Making posters, every poster template, and PDF, PNG, JPG and SVG export are free. GIF and video export come with Pro and Advanced.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. Paste, drop or upload your logo as an image, or import an SVG logo as shapes you can recolour.
